This synchronous webinar will provide an overview of Microsoft Office Sway, a presentation web app developed by Microsoft. Sway allows users to combine text and media to create a presentable website. Participants will be introduced to Sway (a 100% free software with a Microsoft Account), given best practices and tips for creating Sways, and participate in a live-demo via screenshare to create a group Sway. Instructional faculty may see applications for classroom content delivery, while others may use Sway for training, presentations, and more.

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  1. Access and navigate the Sway website
  2. Create and/or revise a Sway
  3. Share a Sway with others using links and/or emails
  4. Collaborate within Sway with others using links and/or emails

Marie Roberts



Marie Roberts is a two-time graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi, earning a B.A. degree in Political Science and an M. Ed. in Student Affairs Administration. She holds six certifications from the Online Learning Consortium (formerly SLOAN-C) in instructional technologies, Web 2.0, and other eLearning-related topics, having conducted training and professional development sessions for more than three years. She is currently pursuing her doctorate degree in Higher Education Administration from Delta State University.

Roberts serves at the director of eLearning at Meridian Community College where she focuses on holistic course design and online student engagement. She is currently working to revamp the College's adjunct faculty support system and online course template. Roberts also serves as an adjunct faculty member for LLS courses, having taught online courses for more than four years.

Prior to serving in her current role, Roberts was director of recruiting and campus life at MCC where her time was spent engaging prospective students and growing dual credit course offerings.

Roberts has presented at many local, regional and national technology-related conferences, including Cengage Course Technology, Creating Futures, Educator's Connect, the National Distance Learning Conference, and the FantasTech Virtual Conference.
