This synchronous webinar will demonstrate the multiple communication tools available through Canvas such as announcements, discussions, conversations (inbox), calendar events, notification preferences, and chat.

Upon completion of the Canvas Communication Tools Webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Compose and publish a course announcement.
  • Create a course discussion.
  • Correspond with students or peers using Canvas Inbox.

BUFFY MATTHEWS

Facilitator

Buffy Matthews has served as the eLearning Coordinator at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College since 2006. In this role, she has been responsible for the preparation and facilitation of Employee Development Workshops for faculty, staff, and students. She has received the MGCCC Master Trainer recognition from 2008 - 2014 and received the MGCCC Expert Facilitator recognition in 2015. In addition, Buffy has served as an MSVCC Academy Facilitator since 2007, earning positive feedback through course evaluations. Her MSVCC experience includes the facilitation of the Teaching Effectively Online course and multiple technology related webinars. She also has experience with course and module development. Buffy has extensive experience using Blackboard, Desire2Learn, and Canvas Learning Management Systems.
