This synchronous webinar will teach you about the features in the Canvas Gradebook. You will learn student view, icons, assignment groups, weight/total points, sub-total columns, current vs. final score, messaging students, sorting columns, mute assignments, and an introduction to SpeedGrader.

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Identify all the parts of the Canvas Gradebook and enable letter grades in Canvas.
  • Explain the difference between instructor view and student view.
  • Recognize Canvas Gradebook Icons.
  • Create a Canvas Gradebook¬†based on total points or weighted grades.
  • Sort Canvas Gradebook.

    Katherine Puckett



    Katherine Puckett has been teaching online for Hinds Community College for 16 years. In addition to teaching online, she has also taught in the classroom for Hinds. She has been the Social Sciences Lead Online Instructor for 10 years, and Katherine has served as the Instructional Design Coordinator for about 5 years.

    She loves teaching and working with faculty and students. Serving as both the Instructional Design Coordinator and adjunct faculty has helped Katherine to tap into the needs of Hinds' instructors no matter what mode they teach! Her goal is to provide LOTS of training to faculty that supports their growth in instructional and assessment practices for higher education.
