Full course description

Hundreds of colleges and universities are considering adopting competency-based education programs, but what will that require for your institution? As you consider whether or how to adopt or develop new competency-based programs, there is a need to ensure that all faculty and staff understand what these programs are and how they can be established with attention to academic rigor and faculty involvement.

This interactive workshop will provide an overview of CBE and its impact on faculty, administration, students, and employers. The day will include a review of existing models of CBE and some lessons learned from early adopters. Participants will be able to begin to assess their institutional readiness for CBE as it relates to business modeling, market demand and outreach, faculty and staff preparedness, and most importantly academic program design and development.
