Full course description

This one-day training is designed for those who serve as advisors and teaches them how to respond to the specific needs of adult learners. Furthermore, it incorporates topics and exercises that help advisors talk to students about PLA specifically. This training incorporates a small amount of more general content on issues related to advising adult learners and will allow for discussion and sharing of consortium-specific PLA issues, policies and practices related to and/or developed as part of the ongoing work with the consortium if desired. It will also cover the ability to identify students that might be more successful in a formal assessment of their prior learning and help to advise and navigate them through the institutional process.

Outcome: Participants receive a toolkit of resources for advisors and students.
